you really want to know?

The Wolfpack is a group of runners from the KC Metro and all over that strive for achievement, honor, and glory through pain, suffering, camaraderie, and beer.

You can find out more about us at Shelter 14, Wyandotte County Lake Park, every Thursday at 6pm. Bring: beer, running attire, headlamp, yourself. Everyone is welcome to the meeting, though not all will join the Wyco Wolfpack.

Winners of many 100s, state records in the 50miler, course records, podiums and wins all over the US,
best fatass events ever, beer miles 2 miles high, beer mile records, most beers consumed per capita in the US by a run club

Our Mission:
The Wyco Wolfpack Association exists to foster enjoyment and development of sustainable running, cycling, and fitness in the Kansas City area and regions surrounding. We put on events to challenge and test the limits of endurance athletes while providing low cost accessible means to participate and succeed. Our club welcomes amateur, semi-pro, and elite individuals and provides an environment that nurtures competition and success among them equally. We encourage and stimulate individual and group advancement in physical and mental well-being, filling the gaps regionally and nationally where they exist in multiple formats of endurance athleticism.
The Wyco Wolfpack is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Do you really want to know more?

So it started with a run and ended with a beer... or was it the other way around? When one gets out in the woods and the trees and the flora and the fauna and the trash discarded by residents of the county of Wyandotte in Kansas you never know what you might find: it could be a couple on an afternoon having sex in one of the many shelters that surround the park, for they are actually a frequent go-to for such activities since the park is not highly trafficked during the day and this occurrence has been observed quite a few times up to the point where BAR attendees of yesteryear, those that have ceased attendance but in reality were some of the founding members have coined or termed a certain position or rather coordinate "blow-job point" - their words not mine; else you might encounter also various fauna to explore: raccoons, squirrels, turkey vultures, deer, foxes, ducks, eagles, coyotes, snakes, geese, lizards of various varieties, the rare chipmunk, opossums, snails, slugs, your usual variety of spiders including some quite large ones, fish, regular turkeys, and yes, the famous nay infamous cougar/catamount/mountain lion - whatever you want to call it, it has been spotted out there and if you don't believe well just take a lap or two for yourself why don't you?

If you are looking for a good starting point might I suggest the highly trafficked shelter 2, or "ranger station" a place where there are signs that forbid alcohol however there are restrooms and a large amount of space... plenty of space where one could stretch out and enjoy a beer or a cocktail or even a bit of wine or the 'ol Bob Hope if you know what I mean... more and more prevalent these days especially considering certain legislation that has taken place in nearby districts/townships/cities/states/municipalities/covens/dens/counties, however they haven't seem to have made their way here which is slightly problematic but the locals don't seem to have had any problem with it at least thusfar and the encroaching boundaries of the previously mentioned districts and areas tends to lend a certain leniency to such activities but please do not quote me because I will fervently deny it - look just don't be stupid and you will be ok, besides if you really need to relax there are plenty of benches - provided a bunch of yokels haven't decided to show up and claim them as their own which would actually be pretty rare at shelter two... that sort of thing mostly occurs at the outlying shelters where the rules are obviously even more lackadaisical due to their proximity to the "ranger station" which is interesting because there never seem to be any rangers in the park they all tend to be sheriffs and deputies and the like which might make you think it has a feel like that but it doesn't really, its more like a park and everyone tends to enjoy it just fine.

Or you could start at shelter 14.
