The Weather:

Went from amazing to possibly rainy.

Run will be held no matter what. Sorry about the rain. And really, seriously, do be careful on some really steep sections could be muddy, improbable, impassible, slick, and dangerous.

Please take care on steep slick trails we only have 1 EMT on site... if you are out there too long the witches will get you.

The Course:

You are in for such a treat. I am jealous I can't run this with you!

Just ran it two days ago and it felt great.

I don't want you to get lost though... I mean... you won't get lost. Invariably though, someone always goes off course at Havens. It happens every single year.
Will it be you? If it is... don't panic. It's just a dumb race. The missing persons stuff was a joke!

Let's get to it. You start in the parking lot. Run around a circle. Then up a big hill on the road. This road is open to traffic, but this is a pretty dead part of town... shouldn't be hardly any.
Run all the way up the hill ... all the way ... PAST A SPOT WHERE YOU ENTER THE TRAIL.... keep going up.
At the top you go down a bit and turn LEFT. Down one of the steepest hills around here, no joke.
Run down this on another road open to traffic... again, shouldn't be hardly any. Unless emergency vehicles have been dispatched again.
Turn around at the tree (will be marked). This will get you a time on a cool strava segment.

Go past the blue circle... up the hill, down the hill, back up the hill... then at the blue circle you go through a gate to enter the trail.

So like, you're coming back the way you came and then go into the trail at the blue circle? Easy!

Then you do the inner loop:

trail2

You will pass a tree that says go right here first time, 2nd time up the hill.
So there will be 2-way traffic here. These are some of the people running in the wrong direction...
Or are they?

After that it's basically up to you bub!

There's an aid station at mile 2.9 ish.

Fun Course Notes!
- For 5.5 Miles expect about 900ft gain
- For 11 Miles expect 1917ft gain
- These hills will be tough, very steep, could be slick.
- A jeep has recently been seen joyriding on the trails. If you see it please dismantle it and dispose of the driver immediately.
- Seriously, if you see the jeep... first be careful. Second, take him out... if you can.
- Saw a couch got dumped off there recently. So, if you see it feel free to take a break.
